 Earwax is a naturally produced substance that helps to protect the ear canal from dirt, debris, and bacteria. It is a combination of oils, dead skin cells, and cerumen, a waxy substance produced by glands in the ear canal. 

 While most people don't need professional earwax removal, it can be necessary if earwax buildup is causing symptoms such as hearing loss, earache, or a feeling of fullness in the ear. 

 The frequency of earwax removal depends on individual factors. However, most people should not need professional earwax removal more than once or twice a year. 

Our Practitioners are trained in a variety of techniques, such as ear irrigation, microsuction & manual removal of earwax. Microsuction is seen as the gold standard technique, which is what we offer as our first line treatment. Microsuction is usually pain-free, quick & safe.

There is always a very small risk of injury or complication, but having highly trained healthcare professionals using the safest available methods reduces this. Microsuction is usually pain-free, but some patients may feel slight discomfort during the procedure.

If you have an active ear infection, earwax removal may be contraindicated as it may potentially worsen the infection. We would recommend that you discuss treatment with your GP to ensure the infection has cleared before coming to us for earwax removal.

After earwax removal, you may experience a temporary feeling of fullness or discomfort in your ear. This is normal and should resolve within a few days. We recommend keep the ears clean & dry for a few days after the procedure.

We also offer payment via flexible methods such as PayPal 'Pay in 3' - where you can pay in three separate monthly installments with no interest or late fees.
